Our Story
We're Lidy and Jacqueline — two Dutch sisters who fell in love with Portugal and never quite found our way back. Growing up, our home was always filled with beautiful things: hand-painted tiles, hand-thrown ceramics, the kind of objects that hold a story. When we discovered the Algarve, we knew we'd found the place where we were meant to put down roots — and build something together. From the start, we made a conscious choice to stay away from the mainstream. House of Style is about discovering the unexpected — pieces you won't find everywhere else.
The Shop at Anantara Vilamoura
House of Style was born in one of the most beautiful corners of Portugal: the Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort. Our physical shop sits right there on the resort, where the light is golden, the ocean is close, and every guest arrives already a little in love with this part of the world. It's a place where people slow down, look around, and find something that feels like the Algarve — something worth bringing home.
What We Curate
Every product in our collection is chosen with intention. We carry exceptional Portuguese ceramics from names like Duro Portugal, Costa Nova, and Casa Fina — each with their own character and craft. Alongside these, you'll find international gifts that surprise and delight: intricate puzzles from Cavallini, beautiful vases sourced from across Europe, oven mitts and kitchen accessories, jewellery, bags, and the most gorgeous silk flowers from Silka.
Our collection spans from the practical to the purely beautiful — because we believe a home should have both. Everything is carefully selected, and nothing ends up on our shelves by accident.
How We Find Our Collection
We discover our pieces the way they deserve to be found — by getting out into the world. We attend leading international trade fairs including Maison & Objet in Paris, Intergift and Inter Decoração in Madrid, seeking out designers and makers who share our eye for quality and originality. And every year, we travel through Portugal — visiting workshops, studios, and family producers — to find the finest ceramics and most surprising gifts the country has to offer.
